holler holler holler oatmeal and granola

This track had me from hello with its tap-it-to-my-veins two-note dancehall rhythm, and that was before the vocals came in. Adventurous homeboy uses a series of credibility-straining pick up lines comparing his objet d’amour to, er, breakfast. “You the cheese on my baguette / the jelly on my bread/ the French on my toast / where the hos at”. “Let me sip your OJ”. And so on. It might sound like novelty, but is way too well produced for that. Also, calling someone “Jean Pierre Le-Douche” is one of the best insults I’ve heard in ages.

Who’s responsible for this genius? Well, LeLe are a gang of pretty ugly looking Dutch/French dudes, but isn’t that vocal done by the bespectacled one from Flight Of The Conchords? I’d recognise that Kiwi pronounciation of “bitch” anywhere.

Le Le – Breakfast

And the video is a black and white animated joy done by Piet Parra, who did the cover for “Cocotte” by Teenage Bad Girl amongst other things. Buy his designs here.
